Katrina Nurses Fund Established

The American Nurses Foundation recognizes a large number of nurses have been affected by Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. In response to requests for ways in which nurses might care for their own, the Foundation has created the Katrina Nurses Fund. One-hundred percent of funds donated to the fund will be used to assist affected nurses in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Contributions also will assist nurses who open their homes to evacuee-nurses and their families.

Tax-deductible donations can be to the Katrina Nurses Fund, c/o The American Nurses Foundation, 8151 Georgia Ave., Ste. 400, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Online contributions can be made with VISA, MasterCard, or American Express at http://www.nursingworld.org/anf/katrina.htm.
