Janet Boivin, RN, editorial director of the Greater Chicago and New England editions of Nursing Spectrum, traveled to Iraq with the U.S. Air Force in June. She was aboard the Navy’s hospital ship the USNS Comfort located in the Persian Gulf when the war in Iraq started. She also covered military medicine from 1986 to 1990 for the Stars and Stripes newspaper based in Germany for service members stationed overseas.
